1. The pressure regulating valve leaks due to damage of the diaphragm
The pressure regulating diaphragm is a rubber product. Because it is frequently subjected to repeated pressing of air pressure, it repeatedly arches and resets, and is corroded by gas and water, so the diaphragm is often damaged. This is the most common fault of the control valve. After the diaphragm is damaged, the compressed gas from the pump enters the upper part of the pressure regulating valve through the diaphragm, but does not enter the air cylinder, so that the air pressure of the air cylinder does not rise. At this time, the temperature of the filter pressure regulating valve is easy to rise, and the pressure gauge of the brake system indicates that the air pressure is insufficient, and the air leakage sound can be heard at the pressure regulating valve.
2. The filter is damaged
The filter is mainly used to filter out dust and impurities in the compressed air to prevent such substances from entering the brake system. It consists of a filter screen, a dust-collecting pad and a fixing screw plug. If it is used for a long time and the maintenance is not timely, the copper wire of the filter screen and the dust-collecting pad are easily damaged. Therefore, care should be taken during maintenance. If damaged, it should be repaired or changed in time.
3. The adjustment pressure of the filter regulator is too high or too low.
During normal operation, if the air pressure in the air cylinder reaches 0.637 MPa, the lower part of the filter pressure regulating valve is relieved, so that the air pressure in the air cylinder does not rise any more. When the air pressure in the air cylinder is lower than 0.49 MPa, the pressure should not be relieved. This air pressure can be adjusted by adjusting the screw to change the pressing force of the large spring (tightening, increase air pressure; loosening, decrease air pressure). If the air pressure is still abnormal after adjustment, there are two cases: one is that the air pressure has exceeded the standard but failed to exhaust and relieve pressure. At this time, it should be considered whether the exhaust piston is blocked or not. If the O-ring of the piston is too tight, the lower spring of the exhaust piston is too hard, so that the normal pressure air cannot push the piston to operate, the outer ring of the seal ring should be grinded evenly or the spring should be adjusted and changed. If the small spring inside the pressure regulating valve is compressed too tightly, the thimble is difficult to push, the axial hole of the plug is blocked, etc., they donot make the air pressure be relieved; Second, when the pressure has not yet reached the requirement, start to exhaust and relief pressure. One reason for this is that the pressure regulating diaphragm leaks, and the other is that the small spring in the pressure regulating valve is too loose (or even broken), or the thimble can be pushed at the lower air pressure, so that the small hole in the pressure regulating valve keep leaking, resulting in the system pressure can not rise. In this case, first remove the adjusting screw on the valve, adjust or replace the small spring, then adjust the large spring.
